I am able to play MPEG4 files of videos I recorded, but no DVD videos. Finally, the drive is light-weight and slim, slightly larger than the thicker CD/DVD cases. It has no power cord/charger as it gets power from the USB port on the computer. I prefer it that way as there are fewer cords to get in the way.

This drive worked well and played the CD's/DVD's without a problem. I was using Windows 8.1.

However the software was an issue. I could not uninstall anything. The software kept putting my computer in a loop when trying to uninstall. It was a real problem. I had virus protection on but it was not a virus. There is something wrong with the software. I had to go to Microsoft and trouble shoot then download special software to remove the software that came with this drive.

I am well above an average computer user and my knowledge is good. There is something wrong with the software that comes with this drive therefore I cannot give this above a 2 star rating.
